In the 2014/2015, financial year the Uganda tourist visa was increased from $50 to $100, which saw many industry players complain. Meanwhile the East African tourist visa was the same price at $100, the question for many people was, ‘what is the essence of increasing the single entry Ugandan visa to the same price as the East African Visa. This visa allows you to travel to Uganda and take one of the many African safaris like gorilla safaris, wildlife safaris, birding tours, cultural tours, hiking making it important to both the Uganda tour operators and the travelers to Uganda.
There have been ongoing engagements between government and stakeholders from Association of Uganda Tour Operators, The Uganda Association of Travel Agents, and Uganda Hotel Owners Association all under their umbrella organization – Uganda Tourism Association.
