On this trip, you will experience the beauty of Rwanda – the “land of a thousand Hills” and Uganda – “The pearl of Africa”. Enjoy the backdrops and Landscape of the two countries as you drive along to experience mountain gorillas in both countries. You will then decide the better experience between the two.
Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival at Kigali international airport
Welcome to Rwanda the land of “a thousand hills.” Our guide/ representative staff will be at the airport to pick you and transfer you to your hotel. Depending on time of arrival, you will have a short city tour to sights like the Kigali genocide memorial and the Kandt museum.

Day 2: Transfer to Volcanoes national park
Your driver guide will pick you up in the morning to start the journey to the Volcanoes national park which is home to the mountain gorillas in Rwanda. You will have opportunities stopovers to take pictures of landscapes, markets and other interests.
Drive time – 2 hours 30 minutes Or Helicopter (Augusta) – 35 minutes

Day 3: Rwanda Gorilla trekking
Meet the mountain gorillas in the jungles of the Virunga ranges. The trek to the gorillas starts with a briefing at the park headquarters in Kinigi where you are assigned a ranger and gorilla family to trek. After briefing, your ranger guide leads you to the starting point of the trek. You might need to drive to the starting point of the trek depending on location of gorilla group you are trekking. The trek can last from a few minutes to several hours depending on where the gorillas nested the previous night.

Day 4: Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable National Park
Our driver guide will transfer you to your lodge in Uganda. Enjoy the winding roads and magnificent views of the different Volcanoes that are shared between Rwanda, Uganda and Congo. You will spend the afternoon at leisure at your lodge in preparation for your trekking tomorrow.

Day 5: Uganda Gorilla Trekking Experience
After breakfast, the driver guide will transfer you to the briefing point where you will receive instructions on how to conduct yourself while in the forest and in presence of the gorillas. The trek takes anything from a few minutes to hours in search of the gorillas depending on where they nested the previous night.

Day 6: Depart via Kigali international airport
