Itinerary for Congo Gorilla Safari
Day 1: Transfer to Goma
Today morning your driver guide will pick you up from the hotel or Airport if you are on a morning flight. You will then start the journey to border between Rwanda and Congo. After border clearing, proceed to your hotel in Goma/ Virunga national park for overnight. Enjoy the winding roads of Rwanda’s countryside and look forward to meeting the massive gorillas in Virunga national park.
Journey time – 3 hours
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Virunga national park
After an early morning breakfast, you will transfer to the the park headquarters for briefing before starting the trek.
After briefing, together with your ranger guide, you will start the hike in search of mountain gorillas. You are allowed 1 hour with these gentle giants before starting the hike back to the park headquarters. After this experience, depart for overnight in Gisenyi.
Day 3: Back to Kigali
After breakfast, you can choose to take a short boat ride on Lake Kivu after which you transfer to Kigali depending on your flight out of Kigali international airport.
