Southern Tanzania has for long been overshadowed by the northern circuit especially Ngorongoro crater and Serengeti. This safari will give you a view of Tanzania beyond the famous northern circuit. Enjoy the massive Nyerere national park which is the largest park in Tanzania and Africa. Top this up with and experience in Ruaha home to several large baobab trees and diverse animal species. In addition to the several big game, you can visit the Ruaha river for sightings of hippopotamus and crocodiles.
Day 1: Arrival
Today you will arrive in Dar-es-Salaam for your safari and be transferred to your hotel for overnight.

Day 2: Transfer to Nyerere national park
After your breakfast, you will transferred to the airport for a flight to Nyerere national park. You will be received by our representative and transferred to your camp/lodge where you will stay for the next 3 nights as you explore this expanse land.

Day 3 & 4: Game drives
Spend the next days’ exploring this vast undisturbed land that is home to massive number of animals and plants. You have opportunities of explore part of it on foot hiking through the beautiful landscape and wildlife. Depending on the water levels, you have an opportunity to explore Rufiji by boat or any other lake, topping this up with sundowners as you enjoy the end of a wonderful day in the wilderness.

Day 5: To Ruaha national park
After taking in the beauty of Nyerere national park formerly known as Selous game reserve, you will transfer to the beautiful Ruaha national park. Arrive in the park to your lodge for check in and an evening game drive if this is of interest to you.

Day 6 & 7: Experience the Ruaha wilderness
Ruaha national park is home to variety of animals and bird life. Enjoy sights of large herds of elephants and big numbers of lions. The Baobabs are an exciting sight in the park giving great photo opportunities. You will have both morning and evening game drives depending on your preferences.

Day 8: To Zanzibar
After an exhilaritng time in the wilderness, leave for Zanzibar and enjoy the relaxed time and white beaches plus lovely locals. Take a flight to Dar es Salaam and continue on to Zanzibar for a down town.

Day 9, 10 & 11: Explore the beaches and Stone town
Enjoy the beaches of Zanzibar, spend time in the beautiful stone town learning and immersing yourself in the Swahili culture. Take on water sports and tours depending on your preferences or simply spend time at the lodge reading a book, swimming or lazing.
